1. (Vacancy No. 24040801527) One vacancy for the post of Assistant Director (Remote Sensing) in Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

RESERVATION POSITION:

Suitability of the post for PwBD:

The vacancy is suitable for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz. Blindness and Low Vision with disability i.e. Low Vision (LV), Deaf and Hard of Hearing with disability i.e. Deaf (D) or Hard of Hearing (HH), Locomotor Disability including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONAL:

M. Tech in Remote Sensing or Geomatics or Geoinformatics with B.Tech in any branch or with B.Sc. in physics or Mathematics or Geography or Agriculture from a recognized University or Institute.

DESIRABLE:

One year’s experience in Remote Sensing and GIS Application in Agriculture. NOTE: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

DUTIES:

(i) In season satellite data analysis for area estimation, change detection, data base compilation, inventory of image data, ancillary data, GIS data base, upgradation, stratification and sampling upgradation.
(ii) Ground Truthing (GT) collection and planning.
(iii) Yield Forecasting using agromet and spectral models.
(iv) Optimal combination of different sources data
(v) Establish mechanism for data downloading and uploading.
(vi) R&D activities related to remote sensing applications in agriculture.

Master’s Degree in Agronomy or Agriculture with Agronomy as a subject or Agricultural
Chemistry or Soil Science or Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Economics or Agricultural
Botany or Master’s Degree in forestry or Botany or Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural
Engineering from a recognized University or Institute

(B) EXPERIENCE:

Ten years’ experience in the field of soil and water conservation or soil health management or rainfed or integrated farming and or soil survey or problem soil reclamation or project formulation including agro- forestry projects in Central or State Government departments or Union territory Administrations or recognized research institutions or agricultural universities or public sector undertakings or semi- Government or autonomous or statutory organizations.

DESIRABLE:

Doctorate Degree in any of the disciplines mentioned in essential qualifications or Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University or institute.

DUTIES:

Responsible for technical examination and report preparation on topics like Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Agriculture, and Climate Change. Implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Coordination with states and stakeholders, Organizing review meetings, and monitoring scheme progress . Managing financial tracking, output details, and international collaborations. Addressing agricultural issues, preparation of proposals, and handling budgetary matters. Drafting Parliamentary documents, VIP References, and Annual reports on assigned subjects for the Division.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) EDUCATIONAL:

A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in section 13(3) of the said act.

(B) EXPERIENCE:

Five years’ professional experience including three years’ experience in occupational health in the Factories or ports or Mines or construction industry or Occupational Health Service Centres of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) or Employees’ State Insurance( ESI) Hospital/ Occupational Health Disease Centre.

DESIRABLE:

Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Social and Preventive Medicine or Industrial Hygiene or Physiological Medicine or Occupational Health from a recognized university or Associate Fellow of Industrial Health ( AFIH) from a recognized institution.

DUTIES:

  • Identification of training needs of group of employees of various organizations and design and conduct of training programmes/workshops in Occupational Health.
  • Carry out research studies and surveys in the field of occupational health and recommend appropriate measures to the industries for improving the working conditions.
  • Guide and supervise the work of technical staff during the studies and prepare reports of the studies.

(A) EDUCATIONAL:

Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised University/ Institution.

OR

Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution.

EXPERIENCE:

 In case of Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering-: Three Years experience in core Mining activity in:-

Managerial position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior trainee engineer

or

Government Department dealing with mines and minerals in level-7 in the pay matrix (Rs.44900-142400) or above

OR

In case of Master of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution

One year experience in core Mining activity in:-

Managerial position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior trainee engineer;

or

Government Department dealing with mines and minerals in level-7 in the pay matrix (Rs.44900-142400) or above.

DUTIES:

Inspection of mines for systematic development, conservation of minerals and protection of mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and rules made there under. To prefer court complaints for violations of Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act and rules made there under. To advise the mine owners on the adoption of appropriate technology for prospecting and mining; utilization of low grade minerals and rejects, protection of environment in mining areas, beneficiation of minerals. To monitor the mining activities in accordance with the approved mining plan/scheme of mining. Technical data processing and retrieval as and when required. Any other duties that may be assigned by the superior officers.
