Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the post of Extension Officer are as follows:
Officers under the Central Government or State Government or Union Territories or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi-Government Autonomous and Statutory Organizations or Agricultural Universities or recognized research institutions or councils.
Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
With three years’ regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in pay band-2, Rs. 9300-34800/- plus grade pay of Rs. 4600/- Level-7 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
With eight years’ regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in pay band-2, Rs. 9300-34800/-plus grade pay of Rs. 4200/- or Level-6 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess the following educational qualifications and experience to be eligible for the Extension Officer post:

Essential Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Agriculture or Agricultural Extension from a recognized University or Institute, OR
Master of Business Administration with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from a recognized University or Institute, OR
Master’s Degree in Rural Management from a recognized University or Institute, OR
Master’s Degree in Agricultural Management or Vegetable Sciences or Horticulture or Agro-Forestry or Degree in Agriculture Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
One year of experience in Agricultural Extension work in the Central or State Government or Union Territory or Public Sector Undertaking.

Desirable Qualifications

Two years’ experience in the formulation and conduct of Extension/Training Programme.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract) shall not exceed 56 years as of the closing date of receipt of applications.
